I hope you’ll enjoy my interview with the hostess of Venus-Lux.com.
PornOCD: Venus, your list of awards and recognitions is very impressive, to say the least. Let’s go back to when you made the decision to make a career in porn. How did you first get started?
Venus: The beginning of my porn career started with an adult company called Kink.com who was based in San Francisco. I was living in San Francisco at the time when I was recruited by a talent scout via email for one of their new sites, TSPussyHunters.com. The decision to join the adult industry wasn’t easy as I had to contemplate how it would affect my future along with my personal insecurities. With a few days of consideration, I jumped on an opportunity that arisen where I was asked to fill in to replace another performer who couldn’t make it. Little did I know, that first scene with Kaylee Hilton for TS Pussy Hunters would avalanche to where I am today.
PornOCD: How did you feel on the day of your first shoot?
Venus: My first day shooting porn for TSPussyHunters.com was nerve wrecking as I was not as mentally prepared as I anticipated. Performing in my first porn scene and having sex with a girl for the first time definitely made it quite difficult. But Kaylee Hilton and the film crew were so friendly and patient that time just flew. Would I do it all over again? Maybe not. I’d rather be more prepared and hone my pussy licking skills and at least be able to find the right hole to insert haha.
PornOCD: If you could describe yourself in five words, what would they be?
Venus: The five words that would describe me would be ambitious, cunning, sincere, considerate, and intelligent.
PornOCD: You have so many fans across the world. How much does your fans support mean to you?
Venus: The support from my fans from across the world keeps me confident, ambitious, and gratified for the work that I put out, whether it be my columns, movies, projects, or even insight to my world. I love how diverse my audience is ranging from men, women, transgender, young, older, American, foreign, and throw the sexuality on top of that and you get a stew of awesomeness. At the end of the day, I’m here to entertain, educate, inspire, and advocate from all the things I do.
PornOCD: How important a role do you feel social media plays in the porn industry now?
Venus: Social media has always played a key role in the adult industry whether it be interacting with your fan base, promoting your works, or even just sharing ideas/info. With the generation evolving with the trends of social media, sometimes social media can get complicated to decipher as new regulations are applied and quality content gets saturated with the bulk of junk content and spam. I feel in the interest of individuals’ and companies’ success, social media must now require better tactics and strategies to get your point across to your audience. Especially if you can buy or manipulate social media followings, it’s starting to get much tougher to identify who is really your audience.
PornOCD: So away from the camera’s, makeup and the lights of the porn industry, what do you do to unwind and relax.
Venus: When I detach myself from work and the porn industry to relax, I typically have a few go to things that help me refuel. I’m an adventure seeker so some of things that give me excitement are road trips to new places, nature hikes/walks, fishing, sports, traveling, and bed & breakfast scenic getaways. If I only got a finite of time, I usually go watch a movie, stroll the beach, soak in the tub, or just sit in the car listening to soft tunes with an overlook view.
PornOCD: So out of all the awards, nominations and success, what keeps you driven to keep getting better and raising the bar just that bit higher?
Venus: I’m always looking for the next challenge. Something about trying something new or testing out ideas gives me the adrenaline rush that I crave. I love my current career within the adult industry, but being the chameleon that I am always looking for ways to extend my branches as there are so many more things that I want to do. At the end of the day, what drives me is the ability to be able to create and to be able to financially benefit from the ideas and risks that I’ve taken. Learning new ways to innovate porn, testing new storylines, being able to create sustainability, and forming new partnerships and allies are all examples that drive me to raise the bar higher and higher.
PornOCD: So what’s on the horizon for your fans to look forward to?
Venus: As I said on stage at AVN Award Show 2015, “this is only the beginning.” I meant it. There is always going to be something new and some of the things my fans can expect from me soon are: innovative TS features, expansion to a network of my own, contract models, novelty lines, and preparing for AVN Expo 2016.
PornOCD: Is there anyone in the industry who still makes you a little star struck?
Venus: Being in the adult industry for over three years now, I’ve pretty much met everyone I ever wanted to met.
